Product quality, safety and standards
We are committed to providing our customers with safe products.

By ensuring products are safe, reliable and comply with relevant standards before they are sold, our divisions build trusting and lasting relationships with customers.
To do this, we work closely with our suppliers, undertaking product testing, quality checks and compliance due diligence.
Wesfarmers divisions collaborate to share best practice product quality and safety learnings through a quarterly Product Safety Forum.
Some divisions participate in the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Product Safety Consultative Committee, to discuss and share product safety issues and challenges.
Compliance with Australian and New Zealand product safety and consumer law is taken very seriously. For those products that the divisions design and procure directly from suppliers under their own-brand, each division:
- complies with relevant product safety standards, mandatory standards and Australian and New Zealand consumer law requirements
- promptly recalls and withdraws products if notified of a safety defect, complying with our policies and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Guidelines (additional information on product recalls is available on the Wesfarmers website)
- where customers suffer loss caused by defective products, works with manufacturers and suppliers so that customers are compensated where appropriate
- reports product safety incidents in compliance with law
