In February 2023, Target Palmerston store team members and Target support team members came together to give the Australian Childhood Foundation’s (ACF) Darwin centre a ‘Target makeover’, donating more than $25,000 worth of products.

Over three days, the assessment and therapy rooms at the centre were transformed into spaces to help the Foundation’s therapists provide family counselling services in a place of safety and warmth.

At the centre, ACF clinicians provide specialist therapeutic care to young Australians who have been traumatised by abuse and family violence as part of the ACF’s National Trauma Recovery program. ACF’s services also extend to support the important people that form circles of care around these young people, such as their families, carers and teachers.

Target also provided toys and resources for the Darrandirra Child and Family Centre, which is a separate space shared by the local community. 

The project was a purposeful collaboration between Target team members and the local community. Team members had the opportunity to utilise their skills and passion to contribute to the ACF partnership and give back in a meaningful way.
