Safety performance

To monitor safety performance, we use total recordable injury frequency rate (TRIFR) which measures the number of injuries per million hours worked, by team members and long-term contractors. This year our Group TRIFR was 9.2 compared to 9.6 last year.

On a like-for-like basis, Wesfarmers had 1,436 workers’ compensation claims this year compared to 1,514 last year. From May 2020, NSW workers compensation provisions require all NSW-located team members who test positive for COVID-19 to register a workers compensation claim. Total claims, including the COVID-related claims in NSW, were 8,654.
